In addition to this, several spectacular trade fair »acquisitions« highlight the significance of the company as a leading trade fair organiser in the communication, media and technology sectors. The gamescom and the DMEX are currently two leading, high tech events which are now also being held in Cologne. The summit of the imaging sector The photokina is an innovation and trend forum as well as global business and communication platform for the entire photo and imaging branch. An international, leading fair, the photokina shows how the convergence of different products and technologies determines the dynamic and growth of this market. The photokina is the only event in the world which presents all image media, image technologies and image markets in their full diversity – for professionals and consumers. In 2008 the fair once again presented, besides the latest products, also the technologies and trends which will considerably influence the market in the coming years. A total of 169,119 international trade visitors and professional users from 161 countries came to find out about the technologies of the fu-ture and new business strategies. From entertainment to digital marketing The gamescom, Europe’s new fair and entertainment highlight of the European games industry, celebrates its premiere in Cologne from 19.-23. August 2009. During this time everything at the Messeplatz Cologne as well as on the trade fair site and in the city will revolve around the booming market of videos and computer games. More than 200,000 visitors are expected at the premiere. The concept of the gamescom addresses all target groups of the games industry – from trade visitors to intensive players right up to the dynamically growing group of casual gamers – people who play occasionally and in their free-time. The gamescom is taking place not only on the trade fair site – in the evenings, after the fair has closed, the gamescom festival will continue the theme of interactive entertainment. The dmexco, digital marketing exposition & conference, will be held for the first time on 23. and 24. September 2009. Koelnmesse is expecting more than 10,000 visitors and 250 exhibitors for the premiere of the new congress fair. The exhibitors of the dmexco represent the entire spectrum of digital marketing. The accompanying conference, with high-ranking speakers from Germany and abroad, will also discuss all aspects and future topics of digital marketing. The fair autumn 2009 will be completed by the DMS Expo which will take place between the gamescom and dmexco from 15.-17. September. Europe’s biggest fair and conference for electronic information management and document management will present the entire digital chain of information creation and processing. |
