An extraordinary high amount of film festivals, which offer film as works of art a platform for presentation, are a peak of the social as well as the cultural life in their respective regions. Among the highlights are the European Media Art Festival, the Film Art Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the International Film Festival Emden-Norderney, the Film Festival Hamburg oder the Northern Film Days Lübeck. And the International Film Festival Oldenburg certainly is the only film festival worldwide which is held in jail!

In Hamburg and Hannover experts just have to attend many important events in media and IT. The CeBIT is the world's foremost tradeshow and congress for the ICT (information and communications technology) industry and its global clientele. CeBIT has been staged annually by Deutsche Messe in Hannover, Germany since its inception in 1986. This unique showcase covers all the products, services and solutions that enhance our digital lives, both at work and at home. The Mediatage Nord is the most importamnt meeting point of the media industry in Schleswig-Holstein. Many public events inform about new issues and projects in IT, multimedia, telecommunication and audio visual media.More than 2.000 experts visit the congress every year and discuss trends and questions dealing with media politics.
